HOW TO PREPARE FOR A SHOWING
Agents from many real estate firms will wish to show your home. It is important that the home appear attractive and clean. The following tips will help ensure a smooth showing:
- Please allow any agent who calls to show your home at the suggested time. It is best to allow a lockbox to be installed on your door
- Open all draperies and window shades during daylight hours. Your home will look bright, cheerful and sunny. Turn on lights in any poorly lit room to include bathrooms and basements
- For an evening showing, turn on every light in the house, to include the bathrooms
- The following items are important for creating a pleasing first impression: fresh flowers in abundance on the kitchen table, a fire in the fireplace on chilly days, sparkling bathrooms and kitchen, home aired and fresh smelling and your favorite pet confined or restricted
- Keep your yard and shrubs neatly trimmed and well watered
- All jewelry and small valuables should be stored in a safety deposit box or in a locked closet
- If possible, try to step outside while your home is being shown and take your dog with you. If the agent has a question, they will find you. Do not oversell your property
- Let me know where you can be reached at all times. If you plan to be out of town, please leave a number where you can be reached
